We spoke to Belgians Vincent Raes and his partner Marie Caluwaerts who moved to Northern Ireland so that Vincent could work for Cybersecurity start-up Angoka.
About Vincent and Marie:
Vincent a software engineer moved to Northern Ireland to work for Angoka who manage cybersecurity risks in connected and autonomous vehicles, smart cities and the Internet of Things devices. Its new development and delivery centre, based at Catalyst, the Innovation Centre in Titanic Quarter, is focussing on creating secure communications solutions for businesses.
Vincent was aware of Northern Ireland’s reputation as a cybersecurity hub and feels there a lot of opportunities for progression here.
Marie a vet spent some time in Northern Ireland on a student placement while at University and has now returned to work at Lisburn Veterinary Clinic. She enjoys working in a mixed practice which gives her the opportunity to work with a range of animals and is glad Northern Ireland has plenty of sheep her favourite animal.
