The Belfast Crane Survey report highlights the Belfast Regional City Deal as a positive with £350 million secured to support value added infrastructure projects over the coming years.
Key Highlights:
- Over 400,000 sq ft of new office space started construction in 2018
- 35 Schemes are currently under construction
- 1,249 hotel rooms were completed in 2018
- Construction began on an additional 200 new hotel rooms
- 2,029 student accommodation bed spaces were completed
- Two new student accommodation blocks started construction – containing 750 rooms
- Queen’s University Belfast and Ulster University continue to develop their estates through capital investment programmes.
- Ambitious landmark developments due to start in 2019 include Belfast Waterside (the former Sirocco Works) and the £500m mixed-use development by Castlebrook Investment
