Run in the Dark Belfast 2023

Run. For those who dream to walk.

Across the world runners are coming together, inspired by Northern Ireland’s Mark Pollock and a good cause.

As darkness descends on 15 November, 25,000 people worldwide will get up from their armchairs, slip on their red flashing armbands and pull on their running shoes to complete a 5k or 10k at Stormont Estate 8 pm. Some will run for fun, some to compete and others will run for those who dream to walk again after paralysis.

About Run in the Dark

Run in the Dark is an annual run held at 8pm local time in mid-November, throughout the world, and was set up by blind adventure athlete Mark Pollock had a fall which left him paralysed in 2010. Shortly after the accident, his friends created the Mark Pollock Trust to support him on his mission to find a cure for spinal cord injury using robotic exoskeletons combined with medical research. Your Run in the Dark entry fee will go to the Mark Pollock Trust to help fuel this ambition.

60 million people around the world suffer from some form of paralysis. Through our charity Collaborative Cures, we hope to change that reality by bringing people together to cure paralysis in our lifetime. By signing up to Run in the Dark, you are joining a global community running, for those who dream to walk. Run in the Dark
