Aflac celebrating one year in Northern Ireland
Aflac is the leading supplemental insurance provider in the life and health category in the United States and Japan, providing financial protection to more than 50 million people worldwide.
In October 2019 the Georgia-headquartered company, listed on the Fortune 500, announced it was setting up a Global IT and Cybersecurity Innovation Centre as part of a multimillion-pound investment in Northern Ireland.
The announcement detailed plans to create 150 jobs at a new technology centre, located in Belfast, to support customers and market growth in the US and Japan.
One year on from that announcement Aflac have just hired their 50th employee (the majority of the Belfast team were recruited during lockdown) and have moved into new premises at Clarendon Dock.
We spoke to Managing Director Keith Farley about his experiences moving to Northern Ireland with his family to establish the new Aflac Northern Ireland team.
