Interview | Sinead Welsh, Founder and Company Director, Informed Minds
Sinead Welsh spent 10 years living in Melbourne and working for the Australian Government as a senior social worker there, specialising in Child Abuse & Child Protection. She returned to County Tyrone in 2017 and after someone she cared about attempted to take their own life in 2019, Sinead set about using her international, social work experience to create the Informed Minds App.
The Informed Minds App is a psycho-educational and wellbeing App that gives each user hope, resilience and support in their back pocket 24/7 by sharing the lived and learned, personal stories of real, local people and top tips to wellbeing from real, local professionals - all through 3-5 minute short videos. The App also offers signposting to local support services for those in need and tools to manage your mind, your mood and your overall wellbeing.
We spoke to Sinead about leaving Australia and returning to Northern Ireland with her young family and about making the transition from social worker to entrepreneur, businesswoman and innovator in digital health.
